Scream the MTV Series S4E8 - "Times Changing"

EPISODE EIGHT

“Times Changing”

Brooke Maddox lays in the hospital. She’s still unconscious, but her heart monitor shows that she’s alive and steady. “Visitor for Brooke Maddox.” She hears from outside the hall, but can’t register, comprehend or respond. Her, now ex-boyfriend, Gustavo Acosta walks into the hospital room and crouches down beside the bed she lays unconsciously in. It’s easy to tell he’d been sobbing. His eyes are red.

“I don’t know if you can hear me Brooke.” He starts off quietly. “I don’t know if you can even comprehend what I’m saying you, but I was just stopping by to tell you-” He sniffles, pausing for a little bit. “I love you, Brooke.” His sniffle turns into a light sob, while tears stream down his face. “When my father was killed I felt empty. My heart was broken and you were accusing me of being a killer. I had no one Brooke. I know that was just temporary though, once we found out who did this, I knew things would go back to normal between us, but it was hard for me to wait that long.. And now?” His tears pick up some. “I don’t want to lose you completely Brooke.” He drops down to both knees, clearly emotional. It’s obvious how important Brooke is to him. Stavo stands up and looks down at Brooke’s nearly lifeless body. “I won’t leave this room. I will stand by you. I will protect you. Nobody will hurt you as long as I have something to say about it. I promise you-”

His words are cut off by the sound of his cell phone ringing. He lets out a sigh and looks down at the caller. No Caller ID. Another sigh lets out as he picks up the phone. “Not on my watch.” The voice that has haunted Stavo, Brooke, Noah, Emma and so many others for so long rings through his ear. “I want to play a game with you, Stavo and if you refuse, then you and your little playboy bunny both get sliced open.”

“There’s no way. They got you. Emma told me you were turning yourself in.” Stavo says, assuming it’s Larius.

“You didn’t actually believe I’d do that, did you? I’m just getting started. Now, here’s the game, Stavo. Remember when you shot your friend with your father’s gun. Watched him bleed out, afraid to help because you’d get in trouble? I know that you know your father still carries that same gun in the same spot he’d hid it back in Phoenix. I want you to retrieve that gun for me. Meet at the abandoned horse stables that Brooke’s father was murdered in. Don’t try anything funny. I’m letting you know right now that I’m sending somebody else. I’ll be nearby watching though. One wrong move and you’ll be dead.”

“You’re sick. You’re a coward. Why don’t you face me.” Stavo shows aggression in his voice, wanting to put an end to these killings by himself.

“Because that would ruin the fun.” The altered voice says, hanging up the phone, leaving Stavo on the line with only a beep. He looks up from his phone terrified, not knowing what to do.

“Did you guys get a weird feeling from Troy James last night?” Emma asks Noah and Andrew who are sitting with her at the Grindhouse Cafe. All three are drinking some coffee in the couch, lounge area.

“If by ‘weird feeling’ you mean on the verge of threatened… Yes.” Noah speaks up about his encounter with Troy James. “I wasn’t with you guys getting Brooke out of the bed because he’d pulled me aside because he had some ‘advice’ for me..” Noah continues on, but Emma talks, interrupting him.

“What do you mean ‘advice?’” Emma asks for specifications, despite that’s where he was going towards anyways.

“That’s the weird part.. He told me he remembered exchanging e-mails with me from like… Eighth grade. He also said that he listens to The Morgue.” Once again, Emma cuts him off to insert her thoughts on the story.

“That must have been an honor, that Brandon James’ brother listens to your podcast, no?” Emma asks him, knowing how much effort goes into the podcasts by Noah.

“It was at first but then everything after just threw me off to the point that I couldn’t even let it soak in the he’d said he enjoys it.. He told me to stop being friends with you guys or else I’d get hurt.” When he says that Emma and Andrew’s faces both grow cold. “I refused, of course, but it felt like more of a threat than a generous warning. He said that your family is cursed and everyone close to you dies. I’ve been friends with you longer than Gina was. Longer than Zoe was… Why were they killed and I wasn’t?” Emma’s eyes begin to water.

“She’s not cursed!” Andrew protests. “You’re a thinker, Noah. You know that. She’s been hunted and despite it being a shame, everyone close to her is being hunted too. It’s not some supernatural curse…”

“No..” Emma says, interrupting Andrew. “You don’t have to defend me. It certainly feels like I’m cursed. Everyone I’ve ever grown close to either dies or tries to kill me.. Troy was right… It’s only a matter of time before you guys do too.” Emma throws her hands up, worked up.

“Way to go, Noah…” Andrew mumbles under his breath. “This isn’t a curse, Emma. People have been trying to make you pay for your mothers mistakes. That’s not a curse that’s just psychopaths being psychopaths. That’s all it is. Piper was a psychopath. Kieran was a psychopath. Whoever’s doing this now is a psychopath. The reason that Noah made it, the reason you’ve made it and the reason Brooke’s made it this far is because you three are STRONG. The sole survivors. You three are the strongest.”

“Audrey?” Noah asks. “Audrey was the strongest person I’ve ever met, not only physically but anytime I needed some strength, she lent me some of hers. She went through more than anyone before this and she was a survivor too. If this is all about being the strongest, then why was Audrey killed?”

“I didn’t know Audrey, but it’s hard to tell. Something that changed weakened her. This killer prays off of weaknesses.” Andrew says.

“Audrey’s hardly cared about anything, it’s pretty hard for her to have an internal weakness when she doesn’t care enough to be weak. The only things she cared about were… Me… Emma… and Gina…” Noah stops talking, until he quietly says “Who were fighting at the time…”

“And when Audrey went, Gina followed. It weakened her.” Noah nods, understanding what Andrew is saying.

“I can’t believe that I didn’t catch on to that. It’s classic horror. Stephen King. The predator preys on the weakest. They’re going to keep picking off the most ‘disposable’ members of our group.

“Who would the next up be?” Andrew asks as Noah eyeballs him.

“Horror theory logic tells me that it’s you…” Andrew’s eyes widened hoping that wasn’t the answer. “If Larius is doing this like everyone believes, then you’re next in line… Then again, we haven’t seen Larius in a while, maybe he’s being gutted as we speak. Or maybe he’s planning your death..”

“Why me?” Andrew asks Noah, his heart dropped when Noah said that he’s next in line.

“You’re the new kid. The ‘final girl’s’ boyfriend…” Noah looks at Andrew from the shoes to head, “And since you don’t seem like you’d kill anyone that just leaves you to be killed. You’re along for the ride. Emma’s the star of the show, you’re just supporting cast, and I know it’s not what you want to hear, but the supporting cast is always killed off in these movies.”

“So now I know to be on edge… Okay… Great.” Andrew hesitates for a second before continuing to talk. “Don’t trust phone calls. Don’t trust texts. Don’t trust creepy back alleys. Got it.”

“Speaking of not trusting texts…” Emma speaks up. “I think we should make a pact. Until whoever’s doing this is six feet in the ground, I think we should agree not to text or call each other. If we need anything we meet in person. If it’s an emergency ...” Emma hesitates thinking about what to do in an emergency, but Noah has the idea.

“In an emergency, we end every text message in an exclamation point. No matter what.” Emma, Andrew and Noah all three look around at each other nodding. It shows that they agree on the plan. The three of them have come to an agreement, they all get up and walk away. As they walk away the focus goes on a camera that was hidden in the books. It clearly went unnoticed by Noah, Brooke and Andrew, or else they would have done something about it. The red dot on the camera shows that it was recording.

OK.. I’m here.. Where r u??? 5:02pm

The text is shown and then Stavo’s face is seen behind the phone. It’s apparent that he’s texting the killer. He holds a gun in his hand. Assumably the gun that came from his deceased father’s possession. The same gun that Larius had shot his friend with when Stavo took the blame for it. The same gun that the killer had requested at the hospital. Larius wears old, beat up clothes. Stained jeans and a dirty, oversized hoodie. He looks around waiting to find who to give the gun to.

Keep walking forward... 5:03pm

Stavo grits his teeth together, but unwillingly obeys the instructions. As he walks further towards the horse stables. He keeps walking until he gets to the door. He hesitates, looking at the door. He doesn’t have much time to hesitate though, because he receives a text from the same person.

Open the door. 5:03pm

Stavo lets out a deep sigh as he grabs the handles of the stable doors and pulls them open immediately after opening the door, he catches a horrible scent. He also catches sight of darkness. No light shining into the stables. Pitch black. “Oh my God… What is that smell…” He mumbles to himself, pulling out his phone and turning on his flashlight. He turns his head shielding his eyes from the sight that his flashlight reveals. His own father sitting in a chair with his own guts on his lap. “Oh my God…” He can’t utter anything else. He gags but doesn’t throw up. His phone rings. Unknown caller ID. He picks up the phone.

“Hello Stavo.” The familiar voice is heard through Stavo’s phone. A tear rolls down Stavo’s face after seeing his own father’s dead body again. The fact that this person is using it for a game.

“You’re dead meat. You hear that Larius? DEAD. MEAT.” The room goes quiet for a minute before the person on the other side of the line replies to Larius’s threat.

“Actually, it’s your father that looks like dead meat to me. Plus, I wouldn’t be throwing around threats, or else-”

“OR ELSE WHAT?!” Stavo cuts off the killer. “I’m the one with the gun!” He yells into the phone but receives nothing but laughter in response.

“Yes, you are the one with the gun… Your bitch of a girlfriend looks pretty unarmed to me right now.” Stavo walks over to the wall of the stable and kicks it. He begins whispering quietly to the person that’s threatening Brooke’s life.

“Don’t you dare lay a hand on her. I’m right here…” Stavo says, “It’s me you want. Come and kill me. Leave her alone.”

“You want me to leave her alone? Follow the instructions.” The voice replies. “Give your dad back his gun. He’s disappointed that you took it. He can’t believe you’d do something this foolish again.” Stavo’s face grows beet red, he knows that the killer is just flaunting his father’s dead body in front of him. Flaunting his own past in front of him. The killer hangs up the phone, but he immediately calls back… In a FaceTime this time. Stavo clicks the answer button. There’s text already up on the screen that says reads ‘I WANT TO SEE YOU DO IT.’ The screen his facing the killer, so Stavo stares eye to eye with the person in the mask. The same person that had killed his father. Stavo locks eyes with them, not listening, but then the camera changes to the back camera, where it shows Brooke Maddox laying in her hospital bed.

“Brooke!” Stavo yells out. The killer waves their knife in front of the back camera, before putting the cold blade on the arm of Brooke Maddox, but not cutting. “Okay! Fine! Okay!” Stavo says, walking over to his father’s dead body and tossing the gun that he’d taken from his house. He looks down at the camera, “There I did it!” he yells. He hears footsteps on the other line, followed by the masked person walking out of Brooke’s room, leaving her unharmed. The call ends after the killer exits the hospital room.

That’s when Stavo bolts back to his car and takes off, assumably going to Brooke’s room.

“I think she just needs somebody there for her right now.” Emma’s voice is heard. Upon further evaluation, she’s walking through the hospital halls with Noah and Andrew. “I don’t trust this hospital and as long as we’re there, she’s safe.” They continue walking, but right as they turn around a corner, Emma bumps into a guy who’s significantly bigger than her. She looks up at the guy, which turns out to be her own father. “Dad? What are you doing here?”

“I’m apart of Brooke’s life now, Emma.” He stands beside his current girlfriend, Monica. They’d clearly just gotten done visiting Monica’s daughter, Brooke. “I’m sorry you’re struggling to accept that, I really am.. I love Monica though, which means I love Brooke too-”

Emma interrupts her own father as her face grows red. “Struggling to accept that? Dad, you’re a narcissist. You may have mom fooled with this fake act that you’ve put on, but I’m not letting you ruin my life again. So with that said, ‘Dad…’ Monica… I hope you two are happy together, but DON’T ruin Brooke’s life like you did mine.”

“Ruin your life? Emma, I don’t know who’s planted these seeds in your brain…” Kevin seems sincere when talking to her. “I was messed up. I’ll admit that. I wasn’t at a good spot in my life, the same thing that happened to you twice before happened to me too. You know how much stress that puts on you. Some people can handle the pressure and I’m so proud of you for being strong enough to be able to. That doesn’t mean I was though. I’m finally doing better though. Please don’t hold my past mistakes against me.”

“You hurt me. You hurt Mom. Even if she’s forgiven you doesn’t mean I have. You’d find it hard to forgive people too if your own significant other was murdering people close to you just to mess with you.” Emma doesn’t back down. Kevin’s eyes begin to tear up, Monica tugs at his arm, trying to get him to walk away.

“Let’s go, Kevin.” Kevin drops his head down, clearly upset with what Emma had said. “Take care, boys. You too Emma.” Emma continues a death glare but it moves onto Monica, clearly not warmed by Monica either. She feels betrayed by the relationship. With his head down, Kevin follows Monica’s lead, walking away with her.

“Harsh?” Andrew asks Emma, following her lead as her walk picks up speed and Noah lags behind.

“Not harsh enough.” Emma spits out at Andrew.

“Emma’s dad is a sociopath.” Noah is faintly heard, lagging behind even more. “Guys, wait up!” The two go around another corner without Noah caught up yet, right beside the corner is Brooke’s room. The two enter. Brooke is still unconscious. Emma walks over to Brooke and grabs her hand.

“We’re all behind you Brooke, hang in there.” When the words leave Emma’s mouth, Brooke’s hand grabs it, showing he’s back into consciousness. Her eyes stay closed though.

“Em?” Brooke quietly releases her name.

Emma nods, “Yes, it’s me Brooke. What do you need?” Emma replies to Brooke.

“They were here…” Brooke once again struggles to speak, her eyes still closed showing pain and showing that she’s hardly conscious. Just barely. “I thought I was going to die. They had their knife to my face. I couldn’t react. I couldn’t open my eyes. I was helpless.” Emma’s jaw drops. Terrified for her friend. Before Emma can respond, in a panic, Stavo runs into the room.

“Is Brooke alright?” After everything, Stavo still checking up on Brooke shows how much he cares about her. Emma and Andrew get confused looks on their faces though. Stavo walks over to Brooke, hovering over her, fighting back tears.

“Yes, she is. How- uh, how did you know something was up?” Andrew grows suspicious towards Stavo, questioning him on his timely entrance.

“I heard his voice.” Brooke says, clearly trying to shy away from Stavo, but she can’t. “I heard his voice when they were here.” Stavo shakes his head as Brooke accuses him of being behind this once again.

“They called me. They threatened me with her life. I’m next on their list. They want me dead you have to believe me.” Andrew shakes his head not knowing if they should believe Stavo.

“Are we serious? The person that the police are looking for turns up missing, Larius is the top suspect and he’s fallen off the grid, but you guys think there’s a chance that I’m still doing this? WHY WOULD I KILL MY OWN FATHER? TRY KILLING MY GIRLFRIEND? Why would I terrorize myself?” Stavo drops his head, clearly upset that his friends are still accusing him of this.

“To throw us off.” Andrew, says. “From what I’ve heard, Kieran did it. Who’s to say you’re not immulating Kieran’s masterplan. Putting the blame on Larius because you know his past…”

“I’m not…” Stavo goes to yell, but then his voice hushes as his head drops. “I’m not a psychopath. I’m not the person you are looking for. I’m not the person I’M looking for. Noah, you’re a horror fan. Why would I plot this out to make my plan so similar to Kieran? That’s how you get caught. The best killers have full proof original ideas. You know that.”

“Who’s to say you’re a good killer?” The tension in the room is heard through silence as Andrew’s words slice through Stavo. Before Stavo can respond, footsteps grow closer, walking through the hall. Noah walks in.

“We have to go.” Noah says. “Is Brooke okay? We have to get her out of here and we have to go.” Brooke’s eyes are holding open on her own now, showing she is waking up, but still clearly not okay.

“Wh- what happened?” Brooke’s voice is still very faint as she’s trying to make sense of the situation while being half asleep.

“Troy James is here.” I saw him leaving.

“Troy- Troy James?” Brooke mutters out, not remembering anything from last night, when she was stabbed. She doesn’t remember seeing Troy James back in town.

“We’ll catch you up later, Brooke. Until then, we have to get out of here. He’s plotting something big. I know it.” Noah’s in a frantic state, trying to help Brooke onto her feet when a nurse walking by sees him and walks into the room.

“Hey! You can’t be doing that!” The older nurse yells at Noah. “She’s not ready to go home yet, not even close!”

“Sorry nurse, but this is my friend and if she’s in danger in your hospital then I’m going to get her out of it.” Emma says, now helping Noah get Brooke to her feet.

“Security!” The nurse yells as two bigger men walk through the door and both grab Noah and Emma, picking them up.

“Let go of me.” Emma says kicking her feet, trying to be let loose. Noah is shocked that they’re being escorted out. He doesn’t move while being carried out. Stavo and Andrew knows that they’re getting kicked out too, so they follow the escorts, Emma and Noah out the door. The security guards toss Emma and Noah, not being easy with them at all. “Wait look at that” Emma says when the security guards turn around and begin walking back into the building. She points over at a car a few spots away from the entrance of the hospital. When Noah, Stavo and Andrew’s eyes follow where she’s pointing, they see Troy James getting in a car. “Follow him.” She says, jumping into Andrew’s car, which was parked right beside the hospital. Andrew runs over to the driver’s seat, Stavo and Noah jump in the back. Andrew turns on the car and takes off in pursuit of Troy James.

“Still think it’s me?” Stavo says, leaning into the front seat, looking at Andrew. Andrew side eyes him and ignores his comment.

Andrew still drives, following Troy James, but from a distance so he doesn’t notice. He suddenly notices Troy James flying past his house. Andrew had assumed that he was going home, but when he notices Troy flying past his house, Andrew whips his car, taking a sharp right into Troy’s driveway. Noah flies onto Stavo’s lap with the harsh turn. Stavo nearly hits his head off of the window beside him. Emma flies to her left too, being stopped by the console. He drives out of the driveway and parks out behind the back of the house, to keep anyone passing by from knowing they’re there.

“What the Hell, Wizworth? You trying to kill us?” Stavo leans towards the front seat again. Then it’s Noah chirping up, questioning what they’re doing in Troy James’ driveway, clearly confused about the situation.

“This wasn’t part of the plan.” Noah says, “We were going to follow Troy, track him… What are we doing here?” Noah asks. Wizworth looks back at the two of them sitting in the back seat. Before he goes to speak, Noah gets a few more words in, clearly just rambling because he’s nervous. “We were supposed to follow Troy to see what he’s up to.. Now we’re parked in his driveway. We didn’t agree on this. Why did you bring us here?”

Before Noah can continue his rambling, Andrew intervenes. “Listen. I know you all were planning on just ‘following’ Troy James, but I guarantee you whatever he’s going to do right now, if he finds out we’re following him, we’re dead or in jail. We were going to get caught if he so much as got a slight look at us while we were following him. I saw him fly past his house, he didn’t even think of stopping. He’s got other things to do and while he’s wrapped up in that, his house is wide open to investigate.” Andrew pauses before finishing his though. “I’m sure we can find more information in there than we could have by following him.”

“Breaking and entering again? Nice.” Noah says, knowing the last time they’d broke into a house, it ended with the house down in flames and Gina’s body being found in it. He was reluctant that time too. “Are we trying to stay alive at this point?”

“We’re trying to get answers, Noah.” Emma says sternly, getting annoyed by Noah always being afraid of the situations. “Aren’t you supposed to know all about these situations?” She adds more to the conversation.

“Yes. I am. I do. I know that going into a POTENTIAL SERIAL KILLER’S HOUSE is a NO GO!” Noah looks around the car. “It doesn’t take a horror movie scientist to know that much!” Noah shrugs his shoulder. “I just don’t want to die, I think I’m going to stay in the car. Who’s with me?” Andrew, Emma and Stavo all three look at Noah and without hesitation, get out of the car. “Come on guys…” Noah says, looking around, realizing they’d left him alone in the car. He follows up by getting out and catching up to the group.

“Nice of you to join us.” Andrew says, snickering at Noah. The group then approaches the house. “How are we going to get in here?” Andrew looks through the window looking for an entrance point within the house.

“Check it out.” Stavo opens up the front door, showing Troy had left it unlocked. He chuckles. “That was easy enough.” He chuckles as Noah, Emma and Andrew follow him through the door. Their eyes meet with the living room that they’d been sitting in while he was tending to Brooke. That’s when Noah’s eye is caught from the whole way across the room.

“B. James’ condition is only external. Very empathetic. No signs of danger or any mental condition.” Noah says out loud. He walks over to the kitchen counter and sees the same paper. The one on the kitchen counter is a copy of the one that Noah has been keeping in his pocket since finding it in Dr. Douglas’s abandoned house. “It’s identical.” He says, holding it up beside the one that he’d kept.

Noah then goes into the room beside the one Troy had kept Brooke in. Noah noticed him going in that room a lot while tending to Brooke. “I was observing Troy the whole time we were here. How could I not? He’s Brandon’s brother..” He examines the room for a second. “Something’s going on in this room. He kept coming in here the other day..” He opens up a few drawers to no prevail. He keeps looking, behind mirrors, in between dressers, under dresses. That’s when something catches his eye. “That’s different.” Noah knocks on the bed frame, realizing something isn’t right. He grabs the bed frame and pulls it off, it comes off easily, like it was supposed to. Behind the frame is a box with a lid. “Bingo.” He says, looking back at his friends. He grabs the box and opens it up. When he lifts the lid, he sees Brandon James’ mask. The original one. The one that Brandon James himself had worn. “I don’t know if I should geek out or be terrified.” He says holding it up. “This is Brandon James mask.”

“I don’t know about you, but I’m terrified.” Emma says exiting the room, holding her stomach. Andrew follows her out to console her. Stavo follows them, and then Noah chases after them to finish the conversation.

“Do you guys know what this means?” Noah asks, turning around, looking at the group. They nod their head, but don’t answer. “I think we’ve found our killer.”

Before the group processes the fact that they have very possibly solved the mystery of who’s killing their friends, headlights shine through the windows. “We’ve gotta get out of here.” Andrew says out loud. The group immediately looks around for another exit, as the car is parked in viewing distance of the front door. While looking for a way out, Emma notices something off, out the window that the headlights shine through.

“Wait guys..” Emma says. Everybody stops shuffling across the room, panicking while looking for a way out. They all look at Emma to see what she’s going to say. “That’s not Troy James. That’s not his car…” She hesitates for a second, “That’s the truck we’d seen Larius in at the scene of Principal Showalter’s death… What’s Larius doing here?”

Larius steps out of the front door of the rusty, white truck and heads his way into the barn that’s right beside the house. “This makes sense…” Noah says. “Larius had to have had help the day of the lockdown. He was in custody when Showalter was killed. Troy James has been helping Larius this whole time and with Larius ‘on the run’ Troy’s given him a place to stay and hide out.” The group collectively nods. “We need to contact police about this. Larius is ON THE RUN. We have him.” The group nods, while Noah pulls out his phone. Andrew suggests putting his phone down.

“I think we should get out of here first. Before he realizes we’re here.” The group nods and sneaks out of the house. They sneak around the side of Troy James’ house and get into the car. They start it up and drive off through the yard. Noah turns around looking out the back windshield to see Larius standing on the outside of the barn.

“Oh no, oh no, oh no.” Noah says, realizing Larius had spotted them. “Larius saw us pulling out. I don’t know if he knows it was us.. But he knows someone was here.” He says, scared of how Larius is going to react now.

“Call the cops.” Andrew says while driving. “Call the cops now, before he has time to flee.”

“Or chase.” Stavo adds to the conversation, implying he thinks that they will now be hunted even more, after they’ve found Larius’s whereabouts.. That’s when Emma’s phone dings. It’s a message from a blocked number.

Are you worried about yourself or your friend, Brooke? 6:30pm

“Brooke.” Emma says. “He implied that we should be worried about Brooke. Floor it the hospital.” Andrew puts his foot on the gas as they drive towards the hospital. Noah is still on his phone with his hands shaking, trying to dial 911. Finally he does it and an operator answers.

“Hello? Hurry please. Larius Shore… Wanted for the murders of Kieran Wilcox, Audrey Jensen, Showalter… You get it, that Larius Shore.. He’s hiding out at the James pig farm. Get there as soon as possible, we’re in danger.” Before the police can even respond, Noah hangs up in a panic. Andrew still speeds, trying to get to the hospital to make sure Brooke is okay.

“FASTER!” Emma yells, trying to get Andrew to speed up.

“The pedal is on the ground. I’m going as fast as we can.” Andrew yells back, while focusing on trying to go faster, he looks down at his speedometer. He looks back up and the person in the Brandon James mask is standing on the road. By instinct, Andrew swerves his car and barely avoids the guard rail. He swerves back onto the road in a close call.

“What the Hell?!” Noah yells.

“Troy.” Stavo says calmly. “It had to be Troy. Larius was still at the house. There’s no way he had enough time to catch up.

“He’s risking his life. He knows we know.” Andrew says.

“Or he’s risking our life.” Noah says. “He wanted us to crash. End this all in four easy kills.. Brooke in the hospital that’s all five of us.” Noah pauses for a second. “He wants us all dead now. He’s been messing with us, but playtime is over. I think we’re closing in on the end.. It’s either we stop him or we all die now.” At this point, Andrew has slowed down, not only out of fear, because the assumable Troy James jumped out in front of them, but also because they’re close to the hospital. Andrew takes a right turn which brings him right to the hospital parking lot. He quickly parks in the first open spot he sees. They all jump out of the car quickly and bolt into the hospital.

They run through the door, they’re immediately spotted by the same security that kicked them out in the first place. “Hey.. get out of here!” He yells, chasing after them as they run through the door into the hallway. The four keep avoiding him, running through the stairway, getting to the third floor that Brooke is located on. They get to the floor and slam the door in his face. They keep running through the hallway until they finally get to her room. They bust through the door separating them and Brooke’s room and what they see catch them by surprise. Brooke is not in there.

“Brooke…” Emma says, knowing that her friend is missing. The security guard burst through and recognizes the tension when he gets there.

“Now what in the world are y’all up to?!” He exclaims as a question, out of breath after being on a wild goose chase trying to stop the group.

“Where’s Brooke?” Emma asks the security guard that threw them out of the building. The security guard gets a puzzled look on his face when she asks, acting like she should know where she is.

“Her dad just checked her out about a half hour ago..” The guard is still confused by what’s going on.

“That’s impossible… Her father was killed months ago.” The big guard shakes his head, not believing Emma.

“Nope, he provided proof that it was him.” Now it’s Emma shaking her head.

“With all due respect, Miss, I’m just doing my job. The proof was pretty solid. Hard to fake.”

“Did she go out on her own?” Emma asks.

“She was sleeping, he wheeled her out.” The guard nearly confirms that Brooke had been kidnapped with that line. Emma knows it and so does the rest of the group. The guard comes to the realization of it too, allowing it to sink in that she was ‘coincidentally’ taken while she was sleeping.
