“False Identities”
“Teenage female.” Maggie Duval says to an assistant, “By the laceration, it looks like she was dead hours before the scorches.” she continues as the assistant writes down her words. “There’s also multiple knife wounds, it looks like she may have been attacked and kidnapped, not just a random killing.” the assistant continues writing as Maggie lets out a sigh and steps away from the victim. “Poor girl… You can take a break, report back in a half hour. It’s breaking my heart looking at this right now. Someone vile did this.” The assistant nods, agreeing and shuffles off out the door, seemingly sick.
Maggie Duval looks down at the torched black body with pain in her eyes, imagining what this poor girl felt in her final hours. While she’s looking down at the deceased she notices something. “This is odd.” She says to herself, digging at a particularly deep burn. She puts her large tweezers in the burn, which seems to already have been a cut, in their side. Her tweezers latch on to something and she begins to pull as a chain comes out of the dead body. A necklace. Maggie continues to pull the chain when she notices something attached to the end of the necklace. Something metal. A metal heart pendant. She looks down at it, studying it, realizing her childhood name is engraved into it… Daisy. She was meant to find this. She scans it a little more and then flips it to look at the back. I’m Back ♡ is engraved into the back of the heart specifically for Maggie to find it.

“Did your mom identify who’s body was found at Dr. Douglas’s old house?” Brooke asks Emma, with Emma shaking her head.
“I haven’t got any confirmation on who it was yet, but she said that it was a girl around our age. She also told me that whoever it was didn’t die in the fire, they were dead hours, maybe days prior.” Brooke scratches her head trying to figure out who it is on her own, when Noah comes over and definitely gives the two a lead.
“Have either of you heard from Gina since the attack?” Emma’s heart drops at the thought of Gina, remembering saving her and taking her to the hospital after being attacked by the person who’s been terrorizing Emma and her friends.
“Now that you say something about it… No, no I haven’t.” Emma says to Noah. “I think that’s something we should look into though, don’t you?” Noah nods quickly, agreeing that it’s kind of shady that Gina hasn’t been seen since going into the same hospital that Audrey was killed in. Especially since there’s another teenage body found.
“Do you want to get out of here and go to her room?” Brooke asks Emma, suggesting that the group, normally, Emma would be in with getting out of school to go investigate something like this, however, this time she’s hesitant.
“We only have one class left today, do you think we should just finish the day off before we skip out of here?” Emma questions it as it leaves a questioning look on Brooke’s face, before she can ask why though, Andrew Wizworth comes over to the two of them and pulls Emma in for a kiss on the forehead.
“Ready for tenth period, babe?” Brooke’s jaw drops because she’d known that Emma and Andrew had had a flirty relationship, but she didn’t know it escalated to this already. Emma nods towards Andrew as he begins to walk away, assumably towards his locker. Emma has a dumb, hazy look on her face as she smiles towards Andrew while he walks away.
“Well, I guess that answers the question I hadn’t asked yet..” Brooke responds to what she’d seen. “You two have moved quick..” Brooke says rolling her eyes, “I’m going. You don’t have to come.” Brooke says, seemingly just looking for a reason to ditch school. She struts around the corner of the hall, but right before she goes around the corner she eeks. “What the Hell is he doing here?” Brooke says peering around the same corner. Emma hurries over to the corner and looks around it, seeing Sherrif Acosta, talking to Andrew’s father, Mr. Wizworth.
“I couldn’t tell you.” They go back to their side of the hallway, hesitating collectively, after a few moments of silence pass, the intercom over the two’s head beeps.
“Everybody please report to your period nine class. We will be executing a lockdown.” the words leave the intercom, but it’s evident they came from the mouth of Miguel Acosta. “This is not a drill.” Brooke shivers remembering the last lockdown. All of the bad memories come back up through her mind. The time that Jake’s lifeless body was dropped onto her. Brooke remembers her current ‘boyfriend,’ Sheriff Acosta’s son, Stavo, and her deceased friend, Audrey, arguing over the drawings. His hobby, the whole library rioting, assaulting Stavo, breaking his iPad. Emma remembers the now deceased Haley Myers putting Emma on the spot, calling her family cursed. This moment brings up bad memories for both Emma and Brooke. The two of them shuffle into the class, Andrew is already standing there waiting.
“What’s going on, Em?” Andrew asks when she walks in with Brooke. She shrugs, meeting him at the door.
“I know just as much as you. Brooke and I just saw Sheriff Acosta talking to your father and next thing I know, we’re on a lockdown.” Andrew scratches his head, wondering what’s going on still.
“I need to get to my father somehow, it seems like he knows something that we don’t... “ Andrew says opening up the door, but Emma pushes his arm down and steps in front of him, closing the door again.
“The school’s on lockdown, Andy.” Emma says, not allowing him to leave, “I can’t risk you getting into trouble or danger. I’m sure there’s a reason we’re on lockdown.” Emma stays in front of the door.
“Exactly. I have to find out.” Andrew says back to her, still trying to open the door. “And if he knows something that he’s not telling me- us, the least I could do is find out.” Right before Andrew reaches for the door again, it’s opened from the outside. Showalter, the principal of George Washington High walks into the classroom. The whole class questions what’s going on with looks.
“I’ve been going class to class to speak about this lockdown.” He says, hesitating. His voice shaky, timid. “It’s not yet ‘official’ or known by the public yet, but Dr. Duval reported to Sheriff Acosta that the most recent body found appears to be one of your classmates, Gina McLane. Some of you may have known her, others may have not but I’d like you all to join in with the mourning of her life with her friends and family” Emma and Brooke look at each other with a ‘sad-but-i-knew-it’ look. “We will remain in the lockdown because we believe the person behind her death is in this school. It is our understanding that we’ve got our man as we speak, however all after school activities will be cancelled and we will remain in our classrooms until further notice.” The class remains quiet as Principal Shoalter walks away, opening the door to exit. When he opens the door, he’s met with Stavo Acosta entering the door.
“You’ve been AWOL so long I forgot you were in this class.” Brooke gives attitude to her ‘boyfriend.’ He rolls his eyes and continues to the back of the class.
“Save it.” He says quietly, smacking his back and the back of his head hard against the wall, sliding down it into a seated position on the ground. Andrew gives Brooke a weird look. Brooke responds from across the classroom.
“I thought they said they got their guy… what are you doing in here?” Brooke shouts. This clearly angers Stavo. He jumps up to his feet and shouts back at her.
“Maybe if you would stop blindly accusing me and open your eyes for once in your life, you’d see what’s been right in front of you this whole time!” He yells with anger and fury in his voice. Redness fills his face. Brooke backs away as Stavo has never raised his voice at her before.
“Drop it Brooke.” Andrew says sincerely as Stavo puts his hood up and sits back down, turning towards his iPad. “I need to find my dad, Emma. Please let me go. I know he has answers. I at least owe you that.”
Emma’s eyebrows curl towards the last sentence. “You don’t owe me anything Andrew. If anything I owe you for dragging you into this mess.”
“You make me so happy Emma. Please let me figure this out for you. If my dad knows something then I can’t let him hide it from us- from you.” Emma nods, finally giving in to his requests.
“Make sure you’re safe.” Emma says to him. He nods, opening up the door and exiting the room.
✟
Andrew peers his head around the corner of the hallway, seeing an open hallway in front of him. He sneaks around the open hallway when he starts hearing voices in the upcoming hallway. “Let go of me!” a familiar voice is heard from the other hallway. He looks around the corner of the hallway that the voice was heard from, seeing Stavo’s father, Sheriff Acosta, detaining his newfound friend, Larius Shore.
Andrew’s hand covers his own mouth to hold back a gasp. His father stands next to Miguel, holding a ghostface mask. Andrew starts to slowly back up, making sure he doesn’t get seen. He jumps, with his back meeting a solid. He turns around quickly, but it’s just Noah standing in front of him.
“What’s going on? I’ve been blacked out in the nurse's office since gym class… Basketball is not my strong suit.” Andrew covers Noah’s mouth, telling him to be quiet. Noah’s eyebrows raise in shock.
“Shh! We’re on lockdown. I think Sherrif Acosta just arrested Larius.” Noah’s eyes widen even more.
“Are you serious?!” Noah yells in a whisper. “What does Brooke think?... I told her!”
“She doesn’t know yet. This is breaking, like literally I just looked around the corner and saw my father holding a Brandon James mask with Larius’s locker open and Sheriff Acosta handcuffing Larius…” Noah’s mouth is the one covered by his own hand now.
“We have to find Brooke and Emma and tell them.” Noah says to Andrew. Andrew nods, leading Noah back to the classroom. Andrew lightly opens the door and you can tell that Emma and Brooke were waiting for the news.
“Oh, hey Noah.” Emma says lightly, Noah gives a short smile, as Andrew steps up in front of Emma. “What’s the update?” Emma asks her, now assumable, boyfriend, Andrew, knowing that he’d left the room to get news on what’s going on.
“I don’t think you’re going to like this…” Andrew says to Brooke. “I saw Sheriff Acosta handcuffing Larius…” Brooke’s eyes widen. “It didn’t look good. There was a Brandon James mask in his locker.”
“There’s no way… He was set up… How’d they know that he had the mask in his locker?” Brooke refuses to believe it. That’s when Stavo stands up and begins to talk again.
“I saw it fall out of his bag this morning. I don’t think he noticed that I saw it. I texted my dad right away. I couldn’t risk any of you getting hurt anymore, especially since him coming here is my fault.” He walks closer, standing with the group. “Why would you do that?” Emma says to Stavo.
“Seriously Emma? Remember the last lockdown? Kieran was arrested. He had a gun. They caught their man. They let him go because you swore it couldn’t be him! You know better than anyone now that when there’s evidence like this, it could easily be someone close to home…” Stavo says, Emma nods, kind of agreeing, but Brooke shoves Stavo. “You doof! He’s innocent! He’s PROTECTING ME. He’s actually been here for me unlike YOU these past few days. Your jealousy made you get an innocent man arrested while there’s still a REAL killer on the loose!” Brooke screams at Stavo, clearly angry. This time Stavo stays composed.
“Come on Brooke! Face the facts. Everything points to him! This isn’t some book, nobody is writing this. this is real life and USUALLY in real life, the one that all the signs point to is the one who’s guilty. You’re just so blind towards him for whatever reason, you think he’s not capable of this. HE IS!” Stavo’s clearly frustrated that Brooke is standing up for Larius over her own boyfriend.
“No! Ever since he came to town, Stavo, He’s been nothing but nice to me! He’s been there when I needed someone and you’ve been off doing your own thing, nowhere to be found. You can’t really expect me to be on your side when you haven’t even been on my side.” Brooke sighs, “Plus… I know you’re hiding something from me..” Her voice goes quiet. “Larius was going to tell me about it then he randomly gets arrested. Surprise, surprise. You may have your father wrapped around your finger but I won’t be a pawn to your games.”
Stavo’s heart drops and he grabs her lightly by the arm and pulls her away from Noah, Emma and Andrew, who were listening to the whole fight. “So you’re telling me he hadn’t told you anything yet?” He asks Brooke, which confuses her. She shakes her head no. “Oh, thank God. Whatever he tells you, don’t believe it. He’s a pathological liar, he’s manipulative and he’s a psychopath.” Brooke’s eyebrows curl down in confusion as he begins to explain. “I know you know a little bit about my past, you know something bad happened that forced me to come here with my dad. We were escaping our lives because of it, but I’ve never told you what exactly happened. The story has been so warped since it’s happened that I can’t even tell the real story without looking like a liar. My last year in my hometown, there was an incident. I was hanging out with Larius and a friend of ours. We were all fooling around and we got ahold of my dad’s gun. Larius was acting like a gangster kid that we knew, just messing around with the gun, holding it sideways. It was funny we were all laughing. He pulled the trigger aimed at our friend and shot him right in the chest. Killed him on the spot. My dad swore he never kept his gun loaded when he was off duty. I’ll never forget looking at his lifeless body laying there in front of me… Coincidentally enough, after the incident it was exposed that the friend we were with was sleeping with Larius’s girlfriend at the time. Larius was on probation at the time for something small like marijuana possession, so even if it were an accident like I’d believed at the time, he would have been locked up for a LONG time. I took the fall for it. My dad was a cop, I got a slap on the wrist. I saved Larius, thinking I was helping a friend. The more time passes though, I feel like it wasn’t an accident. I feel like he’d set out to kill our friend that day and I feel like he’s come to Lakewood to finish the job and get rid of the only person who knows the truth…” Stavo finally admits his secret and you can see the sympathy in Brooke’s eyes.
“So you framed him so that you could feel justice for something that you think was more than an accident? You framed him to clear your conscious.” This can come off as apathetic, however it’s not. Brooke was sincere with her words, understanding the situation that Stavo was in and sympathizing, understanding his reasoning for framing Larius.
“No, Brooke! You still don’t get it. I ACTUALLY SAW THE MASK FALL FROM HIS BAG.” He puts the palm of his hand on his face, “You still don’t believe me.. After all of this?” Stavo sights.
“I’m sorry, Stavo… I can’t… I believe your story. I believe he accidentally killed somebody and you covered for him. That’s who you are. I believe you THINK you saw the mask fall from his bag, but you assumed he wouldn’t keep it in his locker so you planted one in it. You’re framing an innocent man though, Stavo.. Larius didn’t do it.”
“So what’s that mean for us then?…” Stavo says dropping his head. He seems to already know the answer to the question by the tone he said it in.
“I’m sorry Stavo.” Brooke says cold heartedly. “I can’t be held into a box by your delusions. I think we should break up.” She doesn’t flinch when saying it, but Stavo bites his bottom lip and hangs his head, nodding, showing that he understands. He takes a deep breath in and walks away with his head hung low. While he walks away, back to the back of the room that he’d come from, Brooke rejoins the group. She shows a bit of emotion, but not as much as you could get from Stavo. “We broke up..” Brooke says to Emma.
“I’m so sorry to hear that Brooke… What now?” Emma asks her, wondering what’s going through her mind.
“Now we have to get Larius out of jail. Stavo wouldn’t admit it but he definitely framed him. He basically spelled it out without actually saying the words.” Brooke says, prompting Noah to facepalm this time.
“Or he didn’t.” Noah says, clearly getting annoyed by Brooke’s persistence of Larius’s innocence. “Usually I would spell out the whole movie ‘red herring’ bit, but come on, Brooke! The evidence has been right in front of you the whole time. Everytime something bad happens, Brooke, Larius is somehow involved. We don’t know anything about the guy and he’s been trying to find out information on us since he’s moved here. You can’t tell me that it’s not the least bit sketchy, Brooke!” Brooke rolls her eyes at Noah.
“It’s not!” She yells back at him, “He’s around all the time because I INVITE HIM. Not because he’s some psychopath.. You guys haven’t seen the side of Larius that I’ve seen. He puts on a hard act, but he’s actually kinda sweet. He cares about me.”
“Put your lust for Larius aside, Brooke! People are dying. If there’s evidence that it’s Larius…” Emma doesn’t finish the sentence because she doesn’t have to. Brooke knows where she’s going with it.
“I get it. Everybody’s against Larius except me. I guess I’ll have to prove his innocence alone.” Brooke storms away from the pack. She turns to the back of the room, but notices Stavo sitting there still, with his back against the wall. In an impulse decision, Brooke storms out of the classroom, opening the door and exiting during the lockdown. Only a few moments after she storms out, a shriek is heard from the hall. When the shriek is heard, Stavo instantly hops up to his feet and runs out the door.
“Brooke?” He shouts jumping to his feet. Once the door slams shut, Emma, Noah and Andrew follow him. The three run out of the door to see Brooke crying, holding back Stavo, who’s already also in tears. She’s not letting him see inside her open locker. Emma, Noah and Andrew run over to the two, both crying as Brooke still wraps up Stavo in a hug, not letting him see. Emma peaks around the two, peering inside Brooke’s locker. The head of Stavo’s father sits on the top shelf. Blood runs down from Miguel Acosta’s severed neck. Both eyes missing from his head. Emma gasps covering her mouth, Andrew puts his arm around her and pulls her in close, trying to assure her that he’s keeping her safe. Noah stands in front frozen. His jaw dropped to the ground. He looks at the inside door of the locker, noticing a message written in blood, assumably the blood of the sheriff and Stavo’s father. ‘Eye am watching’ the message reads.
✟
“The lockdown has concluded as we’ve determined the wrong person has been accused. School will be cancelled until further notice, in the wake of the recent events. Student’s safety is our number one concern and we don’t believe that we can insure our students that at this time.” The voice of Principal Showalter is heard over the intercom.
“That’s bullshit.” Brooke says breaking the ice while walking out with Stavo, Brooke, Emma, Noah and Andrew. “So they’re just going to drop everything on Larius and try to act like they didn’t accuse him over being a serial killer?” Brooke is clearly still mad about Larius getting accused.
“He isn’t as innocent as he seems to you, Brooke.” Stavo’s broken voice whispers out towards Brooke. You can hear the pain in his voice when he speaks.
“Are you kidding me Stavo? I hate to talk about the elephant in the room but your dad is DEAD, Stavo.” Brooke clearly exceeds boundaries as Stavo begins to tear up again, as his father was just found by Brooke and himself not even an hour prior to this comment. “You can’t seriously still be still pinning this all on Larius. I mean, come on, Stavo. He was being watched from the moment he got arrested, there’s NO WAY that he did this. Noah and Andrew saw your father alive when he was arrested.”
“Just because he didn’t kill my father doesn’t mean he didn’t kill Audrey or Gina.” Stavo’s tone goes from timid to aggressive. He’s locked in on believing that Larius is behind this and it’s obvious that nobody will change his mind.
“Are you implying that there are possibly two people doing the killings again? Like another Kieran and Piper type deal?” Noah asks, now interested in Stavo’s theory.
“Exactly-- no.. I don’t know. I just know that Larius has something to do with it. I feel it. I can tell that something’s not right with him. He’s messed up.” Stavo responds, still putting the blame on Larius, despite him not being able to be present when Miguel was killed.
“Honestly, I think it’s a plausible theory. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the reveal of Gina and the killing were so back to back… It’s very, very possible that the Gina reveal was supposed to take the cake for today but when they caught on to Larius, whoever else could or could not be doing this had to think quick, made an instinct kill picking off Sheriff- erm, your father.. In an attempt to clear Larius.” Noah looks around at the group, Brooke, still not believing anything he says, Stavo nodding his head, agreeing with what Noah’s preaching.
“Seriously?!” Brooke yells out, definitely annoyed now. “Are we forming a militia against Larius? What happened to innocent until proven guilty? We’re really going to incriminate Larius when the cops, the professionals, let him go? Stavo. I’m so sorry about your dad and I know where you are right now. I know that it hurts. I was there before. Kieran killed my father. It sucks, Stavo, and I know you want someone to blame right now, but don’t let that mean incriminating an innocent man.” Brooke hesitates before continuing, but ultimately does continue. “Remember when you gave me basically the same speech about Mr. Branson because I thought that it was him behind the mask last time? I disregarded what you said and he ended up dead because of me. I know you don’t like Larius, but could you really live with it on your conscious if you did something that made him an easy target to whoever the Hell is actually doing this?”
Stavo stares blankly at Brooke, taking in everything that she’d just said. He doesn’t even attempt to argue back with her. Not that he had the chance, as she stormed off again. “She’s so stubborn. The evidence is right in front of her…” Noah shrugs as she walks away.
“I don’t know… I was with you and Stavo at first, Noah, but I just don’t see your theory being right…” Noah looks over at Andrew confused, because usually Andrew doesn’t really initiate conversation. He’s just been someone supporting Emma in the group until now. “I listen to The Morgue, Noah. I’ve heard everything you’ve been talking about and I understand how your brain thinks… You almost want there to be two killers because it would answer so many questions and Larius being one of them would connect a lot of dots too, but whoever’s doing this is smart. Incredibly smart. They’ve plotted out their perfect times to kill to the point that they get away with it. It’s almost too obvious that it’s Larius if that makes any sense.. It seems like they’ve pointed the fingers at Larius on purpose and you’re buying into it.”
Stavo steps up in the face of Andrew “Are you trying to accuse me of something?” Stavo says, not backing down from Andrew. Andrew curls his eyebrows in confusion.
“No, man. I’m not saying it’s YOU that’s pinning it on Larius. I just think you’re simply a pawn, buying into what the person behind it wants you to buy into.” Andrew says as Stavo steps down from his aggressive state.
“Okay, I’m sorry about that.. I’m just kind of on edge right now because Brooke told me she thinks I am framing Larius to get rid of him and then she broke up with me.. Assumably for him..” Stavo’s voice lowers again, “And well..” he doesn’t even have to finish his sentence for Andrew and everyone else to understand the turn that he’s taking, with his father.
“I understand bro, you’re cool.” Andrew extends out his hand and Stavo does the ‘guy-handshake-dap-up’ that every guy seems to know.
“We need to spy on Larius.” Stavo says to the group, catching them all off guard. “I just know that he has something to do with it and I understand that you guys don’t see it. You guys didn’t know him before Lakewood, like I did.” Stavo’s voice shakes as he hesitates again. “He’s up to something.”
Andrew nods agreeing to go, which means Emma will go. Before Andrew can verbally agree, Noah begins speaking. “I agree with Stavo. Larius is creepy. He gives me super bad vibes. The vibes I got from Kieran when he first came to town. I just kept hearing ‘he’ll grow on you, he’s cool, he’s not like that’ and eventually I just believed it… Not this time. He gives me serial killer vibes and I think we’d just be dumb to NOT investigate it honestly.”
“I actually agree.” Andrew continues nodding, “Not that he gives off serial killer vibes, I agree we should watch him. It’s the only way to know for sure what’s going on.” Andrew shrugs in verbal agreement.
“Do we let Brooke know we’re doing this?” Emma asks to the group and Stavo puts his palm on his face, implying it was a dumb question. Andrew laughs.
“Come on, Em.. You can’t really think that’s the best idea? She would definitely tip him off.” Emma nods, understanding.
“I know, I just would want to know if my friends were plotting to spy on… well, you.” Andrew raises his eyebrow with Emma implying that they’re dating. Despite knowing how cozy the two have gotten together, they haven’t really had the ‘validification talk’ that they’re dating, and he gets nervous anytime it’s brought up or discussed.
“I know, but we can’t just trust Brooke with that, especially right now.. She seems unstable about the whole ordeal. She would spill to Larius in an instance, it’s a given. I think we should leave her in the dark on this one.” Andrew lets Emma down easy, knowing she doesn’t want to leave her best friend, Brooke out, but knowing it’s also best if they do.
“I completely agree with Andrew.” Noah seconds his notion. “As much as I love Brooke, there’s no changing her mind about Larius until we get hard, solid evidence. By doing this, I think we will be helping Brooke more if we don’t tell her. Either we find concrete evidence that she needs to stop hanging around with him or we prove ourselves wrong, either way, I think we’d be helping Brooke.”
Emma nods, clearly understanding the situation and agreeing not to tell Brooke about spying on Larius. “So when are we going to do this?” Emma asks the group.
The question stumps them for a moment, then it’s Andrew stepping up and setting a time to do it. “I think we should do it as early as tomorrow morning… I mean, we don’t have school. I don’t want to see anybody else die, especially if we can prevent it.”
The group collectively nods with each other in an attempt to show that Andrew had made a good point towards the time. After agreeing on when to do it, the group all separates to go home. Andrew and Emma leave together as Andrew will drop Emma off at her house, Noah goes his own way and Stavo goes his own way.
✟
Hmmm Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmmm…. The noise rings through the empty classroom as Principal Showalter walks through an empty classroom, making touch ups to the room. After cleaning small stuff for a little longer, he goes to clean off the pinboard where student work is hung up in front of the class. By this time, it’s noticeable that he’s in Andrew Wizworth’s father, Mr. Wizworth’s class room. While he’s taking student work off of the board, he notices something black sticking out from behind the board. His eyebrows wrinkle, confused at what he’s noticed, as he grabs one corner of the board with his left hand and the other corner with his right hand, pulling it off the wall. When it comes off, the black thing falls onto the ground front up. The black he saw was a strap… The strap to a Brandon James mask. When he sees it, his eyes widen and heart drops. Not because of the sight entirely. When it connects with the ground another noise is heard from the hallway. Chiiiiiiiing. The signature sling of a knife is heard from the hallway and that instantaneously spells disaster for Principal Showalter. He slowly makes his way to the door and looks around the door into the hall, seeing somebody standing behind caution tapes wearing a black poncho and a Brandon James mask. Showalter runs back into the classroom and opens up Mr. Wizworth’s drawer in a panic, trying to rummage through it, looking for anything he’s capable of defending himself with, but when he opens the drawer, two, bloodied eyes are staring at him in a ziplock baggie inside the door. He screeches, hearing the footsteps get closer and closer, closing in towards the door. He backs up, once again in a panic as the person dressed to kill enters the classroom door, staring at Showalter from behind a mask.
Showalter runs to the back of the classroom to get as far away from the masked person as possible. The person with the mask holds a knife up as if they’re ready to strike, once again, locking eyes with Showalter as he charges Showalter with the knife. On instincts, Showalter picks up the board that he’d initially pulled off of the wall, finding the mask and right before the person in the Brandon James mask can strike, Showalter strikes first, connecting the board with the mask of the predator. The person behind the mask falls down, giving Showalter room to run around them. They slice the back of Showalter’s calf drawing blood. It’s enough to slow him down a bit, but not enough to neutralize him, as he continues out of the room, leaving the person trying to kill him to lay on the ground, potentially injured by the board strike.
Showalter gets far enough quick enough to take a detour into the nurses office, where he sees the school nurse laying on the floor with blood running from her throat. She’s been there for a bit, clearly, as she lays in a puddle of her own blood from her throat. He puts his hand over his mouth to prevent from screaming, hoping that the killer doesn’t track him to the nurses office. He reaches into a first aid kit that the nurse had kept in her drawer. He wraps his bloody leg up in a white cloth trying to prevent from bleeding as much, as he looks back, noticing that the blood trail from his calf has followed him to the nurse’s office, which makes him easily trackable.
He hobbles out of the nurses office as he’s no longer dripping blood, after wrapping him wound. Still, the killer isn’t in sight. He takes a deep breath, feeling in the clear as he tries to make a break for the door… which is right past Mr. Wizworth’s classroom, in which he’d just been attacked in. He’s significantly slower too, due to blood loss. As he tries to jog past the classroom in an attempt to get to the door, he can’t help but look into the classroom, noticing the person is gone. Assuming victory, Principal Showalter stops his jog and peaks his head into the classroom. Not only is the person in the Brandon James mask gone, the original mask is gone as well. The one that had fallen from behind the board. He looks down at his blood trail in confusion, not knowing where they’d gone. He assumes that they’d retreated after being struck with the board.
After accepting his victory, Showalter pops his chest as he still is slowing down from his, apparently deep, slash in his calf. He walks out of the classroom door and continues onward to the exit door. Once he reaches it, he opens it up. Light doesn’t shine it, showing that it’s night time. This is clearly hours after the lockdown, earlier in the day. He looks down at the steps as he hears a noise in the bush beside him, knowing he’s in no condition to run. He begins to look over the side, into the bushes when suddenly he’s pushed down the stairs. The person in the Brandon James mask stands at the top stair as Principal Showalter lays at the bottom, clearly with a broken leg. The same one that he’d wrapped for his cut. The break is compound as his bone shows through his skin. He tries to crawl away from the person in the Brandon James mask, pulling himself forward with his hands, but he’s clearly not fast enough as the person in the Brandon James mask as he slowly walks down the stairs and grabs Principal Showalter by the little bit of hair left on his head. Elevating his head and only his head, the killer slices through Showalter’s throat as blood pours out of it instantly.
The person in the Brandon James mask stands over Showalter as blood leaks from his throat, seemingly taunting him. Two massacres and the reveal of Gina in one day. The person standing over Showalter’s deceased body is on a killing spree.
